Blog Feature: Jane Productions

i'm pleased to welcome Nicole Garica, of Jane Productions. southern oregon is very lucky to have a floral designer like her...she always blows me away with her creativity, and love for what she does!!!!

We asked her a few questions about her growing business and passion - check it:

How did you get into the floral, design business? I was technically trained in 1992 as a florist. I left floral design fir several years. Then in 2007 my sister in southern Cali started doing weddings for close friends and family. When she needed help I would go down to help. She was so talented in design and realized it was her passion. In 2008 she left corporate America to follow her dream and quickly became a well known event designer. I started making regular trips to LA to freelance with her. I would work any where from a quick weekend trip to a five week stay. I quickly realized it is my passion as well. Creating is simply in our genes! I started Jane Productions with the hope of bringing a new fresh style to events and weddings in southern oregon.

What style do you specialize in -- modern, traditional, romantic, etc.?
I would say I specialize in bringing whatever my clients style is to life. My specialty is taking my clients style and thoughts to the next level and create unique design elements that reflect their style and personality.

Where do you search for inspiration

I draw inspiration from several sources. The main source is nature. Just walking down the street will bring great inspiration. Another Fun way to be inspired is to visit museums. And if course I am greatly inspired by the work I do in so cal.

What are the wedding trends your seeing in flowers this year and particularly liking?
One popular trend I like is mixing vintage and modern elements. I like the romantic and free flowing florals that accompany this look. I also like the eclectic use of vintage props such as old books and jars with florals.

How do you charge for your services -- a flat fee or per-item fee?
Because every design is unique so must prices. Price is based on type of flowers used, quantity and size, and intricacy of design.

Do your provide aisle runners, candles, candlesticks/holders, trellises, potted plants, etc.?
I have a vast inventory in which I draw from. My price includes the rentals of items needed to bring your look to reality. This allows my clients the convenience of not having to purchase items they will never use again and also helps keep costs down.

If these lovely brides, event planners, etc. WANT your amazing talents - tell us how?

dutch bros coffee...

if you're from southern oregon, everyone knows dutch bros. for their amazing customer service, stellar brew and always doing philanthropic activities for the communities they reside in.

i was asked by traci buck photography if they could use our property, and also use some "back to school" props. they are rebranding their online retail site....be looking online soon to see their new look and line of clothing.

and because they are SUCH a wonderful company and provider for our community...i'll leave you with their "Dutch Creed"...lot of amazing versus to help keep that optimism alive...that we all should be living with.

The Dutch Creed
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best, and expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and move on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

every detail they made...every little step was done...

sarah and her mom were a delight to work with. SO many details went into this beautiful wedding on the rogue river. from collecting over 150 mismatched china plates, to collecting mismatched bird cages... yes, it was a true DIY wedding...inspiring.

sign in hutch with family photos of their parents, grandparents and great grandparents.

our lovely 13 foot long farm table they used for their head table

on each table they had glass birds with stacks of old vintage books.

all tables had rustic bird cages on for decor.

darling church pews.

she had a lounge set up near the dance floor for guest to relax, visit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

the cakes display was darling. they used our bicycle table and i put an old wooden door for the top on it. and then, used one of our drop leaf tables for the other half of deserts. these desserts were off the charts unique and super yummy!
