neon infused birthday party

this past weekend we hosted a "neon infused" birthday party for my main man - MATT (that's a tongue twister). we hosted down at the warehouse. it was a family style "potluck" dinner followed by some great tunes by Matt Hill, State of Jefferson and Jared from the local band, the Illies. we asked the guests to wear neon - it was fun to see how creative some folks got. i've been seeing neon everywhere and really loving the pop it provides. it's quite possible to blend the new neon with the old funky chipped goods.

how about this idea for a wedding:
party favors: neon clear glasses
food: an assortment of rad, edgy food carts
entertainment: an assortment of 3 or 4 different bands (reggae, country, R&B and Love)
Flowers: Ranunculus
Tables: Ivory Lace with crazy colored vases
Ceremony Backdrop: neon colored Crayons melted in wax paper, cut out in circular or heart shapes.

Thursday's Sales are Back!

we're back from an extra long extended vacation :)...i hope the new year is bringing you joy, fulfillment and guidance to keep you on your new year's resolution. just to share - mine this year - was STOP! are you living in the moment. i find myself rushing from place to place, hurrying to clean the house, make breakfast, lunch and dinner, exercise, play with my kids, spend time with my husband, be creative, work at the dental office, running marigold, garden, remodel, etc. etc. and time really does fly. so, i've been doing pretty good with allowing myself to take a break to cherish my family and others around me!

anyway, marigold is busy right now with booking season - holy smokes. it's been wonderful again meeting all these new brides, their family members, fiances...etc. i can't wait for an awesome season that is right around the corner. thank you to all you brides, photographers, florist, event coordinators for thinking of marigold!

we have a few items for sale this week.



this couch below is so adorable...however, i'm not certain i want to keep this because it needs some tlc and possible reupholstering IF i was going to rent out and i have 3 other couches before this beauty. this would be perfect for a photographer. i say that because it has a few stains on it that a camera wouldn't pick up. make me an offer if your interested..



this is a rad headboard. i repainted...and love this color right now especially with spring approaching.

Frozen Paintbrush...

well, these parts of ORYGUN have been quite cold the last week. having a hard time EVEN leaving my house to hunt for treasures because of the temperature...but, still managed to rummage up some rad finds.

also, thanks to the people who purchased marigold's goods last week. they went quick.

AND, added bonus: marigold is coming to portland on jan 1st for a wedding. so, if any of you portland folks, like something. we will deliver for a small fee that weekend.

this darling hutch will be available next week. i've been working on it and working on it...the whole inside was lined with some icky wallpaper. i'll be sprucing it up a bit. (the bottom and top can be seperated)
suggested uses: bottom could be used for a desk, and the top could be mounted on the wall right above for shelving), good old fashion hutch or potting bench for outside (that's what i'd probably do with it).

marigold is excited to announce we’re now adding items for sale online - these will be posted on our blog! i’ve been refinishing old furniture for quite awhile, and have sold periodically in local antique shops. it became challenging to do both rental and sales…but, i’ve roped someone else in to help me do it all. i’ll be posting new items for sale each Thursday. the items for sale will be primarly revived furniture. also, if you have a piece of furniture that is just sitting in your basement or cold garage because it's "a little outdated", we can bring new life to that piece as well! look for items starting this thursday!
